Format CF in Windows XP
First of all we discourage using Windows XP because support has ended: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Windows ... xp-support
If you have to format a Compact Flash card of 1 or 2 GB or you are using Windows 7 or newer please see: https://youtu.be/Jju1RJplG60?t=1m49s
The problem is that Windows XP does not show the FAT option in the File system drop down menu for 4 GB CF card.
You can contact us to exchange you 4 GB for a 2 GB card (which is sufficient for 24 hour recordings) or you can follow the instruction for Windows XP below.

- Start Disk Management by pressing WindowsKey+R and typing "diskmgmt.msc" and hit Enter:
- Right click the partition called VU-AMS_DATA and make sure the drive letter matches that of your CF card (in this example G:):
- Click Format... and click Yes if you are sure you selected the Compact Flash card.
- Make sure the format setting match the setting in the screenshot below and click OK:
- Click OK on the warning "This volume will not be compatible with previous version of Microsoft..."
- Last change to check if you are going to format the CF card and not you USB stick or data partition!
- If you are sure click OK on the last warning.
- Wait for the formatting to finish.
- Verify if your CF card is indeed formatted FAT:
